Making of Modern Theology series

This major series of theological texts is designed to introduce a new generation of readers-theological students, students of religion, professionals in ministry, and the interested general reader-to the writings of those Christian theologians who, since the beginning of the nineteenth century, have had a formative influence on the development of Christian theology.

Each volume in the series contains an introduction, which includes a short biography of the theologian and an overview of his theology; the selected texts, which consist largely of substantial edited selections and are introduced with information about origins and significance; and a select bibliography, which provides guidance for those who wish to read further both in the primary literature and in secondary sources.
